Episode #335 – Stop the Sales Pitch! This is Why It Will Increase Sales!

How do you shop?  Do you wake up in the morning, decide you want to buy a car, visit the first car store on the corner, walk up, say, “Hey I want to buy a car”, and buy the first one the sales person shows you?


You may wake up and think, “I… someday in the future… will purchase a different car”

Then the search begins.

You’ll visit comparison sites online, start searching by accessories of the car, narrowing what you’re interested in.  Then you’ll go through customer ratings to see how it’s performed.  Maybe you’ll check new cars.  Then you’ll do research for financing. Finally, you’ll visit an actual place that sells cars… but most likely it won’t be the place you’ll purchase the car!  I mean you need to test drive that type of car before you actually buy it.  Then maybe someday you’ll start negotiating.

Cars are a beautiful example of how today’s inspiration works.  People want to learn and be educated about products before they buy!  They don’t want to be pitched.  Even “pitches” have been radically transformed by the 1 minute videos you see on Instagram.

Disclaimer:  I totally buy anything I see on Instagram because there’s something about the videos… dang… I buy some strange things because it looks so desirable! I think it’s the lack of pitch and total focus on emotion.

Either way, it’s much different today than it was 10 years ago.  This is why the Infinity Marketing Machine is so important.  The whole focus of the Infinity Marketing Machine is to build a relationship through constant communication.  When you build the relationship you build trust.  Therefore, people doing research are actually on a quest for trust!  Even the 1 minute Instagram video builds trust.  Just because it’s “only” a minute doesn’t mean you can’t have an impact!

To create the important relationship with your customers that will transform them into infinity customers, work to provide information instead of pitches.
