Have you ever watched the 10:00 news?  What happens when you go to turn on the 10:00 news and the football game runs long and so the 10:00 news is not on?

You feel like something just isn’t right.

It’s the same feeling you get when you leave your house 10 minutes late…

You crave consistency.

Guess what? Your customers crave consistency too!  This is the reason you post the hours you’re open on the front door or on your website information page.  This is the reason you have a phone number… do you realize at our family marina we’ve had the same phone number for 57 years?  Imagine if every year you changed your phone number… that’s crazy right?!?!

This is why you need to develop a consistent plan for content.  When you decide to publish content on a consistent basis you will totally have a game changer.

Let’s think about this… right now, ask yourself this question… when was the last time you posted on your Facebook page?  How many of you looked up and thought, “Yikes!” – Now, answer this question, “Have you ever visited a business Facebook page and noticed the last post was over a year old?”

OMG.  I just visited our area high school website and they had their summer hours posted… which would normally be helpful, except that they were from two years ago.

I’m not saying this as a criticism, I’m just pointing it out as a fact.  We all do it and we all come across examples.  It’s VERY easy to slip up in this area.  What I am challenging you to do is get better at your consistency.

When you think about leaving your house 5 or 10 minutes late or the nightly news not starting at it’s consistent time, and it bothers you.  What you’re saying is you crave consistency.  You are not alone.  Give this gift to your followers and develop a consistent content plan.  Give them something they can rely on!  This is a big part of your Infinity Marketing Machine.  When you are consistent you become trustworthy and that builds loyalty with your followers.
