Do you appreciate when someone asks you, “how are you doing?”
I mean… really asks you.
It’s a “warm like oatmeal” type of feeling where someone actually cares. They don’t have a hidden agenda… they’re just asking.
Well… how can you do this for others?
Send one email.
Just reach out and touch base with your tribe. Notice I didn’t say list… this is a fundamental difference in your mindset. If you believe your group is a list, you don’t need to do this exercise, a list is just that, a list. If it’s a tribe, you want to know them.
So reach out to your tribe.
Get out there and make a basic email that just asks “how are you doing?” – OK, don’t be that blunt. But share with them that you are doing fine, what you are doing for the future, how your days have been occupied over the past couple weeks. And it’s also good to say that you are looking forward to having them come back to visit your store/business again soon.
This isn’t silly or cheesy. This is one of the most fundamental principles to relationship building. It doesn’t matter if it’s your friend, parent, or tribe… just take a moment to jot a quick note to check it.
