TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 675 – An Emotional Drive

Saturday:  Try This!

Earlier this week I talked about emotional words and yesterday I talked about putting your customer into your post… then I came across a photo I took earlier this spring.

WOW

Renting a car is kind of a mundane event.  When you travel you need to have ground transportation.  And it’s pretty easy to substitute the businesses that provide car rental…

Look what this one did to help you use the product – they used emotional words to help paint the picture of the emotion of their rental cars.

They don’t say convertible, 4 wheel drive, automatic transmission… it says scenic, fun, and family.

This is something you can do… maybe not on a wall as your back drop – but what about on your website or brochure?

Use the opportunity to share the words of the emotion of your product!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 669 – Draw This.

Saturday: Try This

We walked into the store and over in the corner was a neat little activity… there was a real artist creating a unique drawing for a customer.  What a fantastic idea!

Now… adding a professional artist to your store might not be the right idea, but let’s look at why this is a cool idea to try.

The best part of walking into the store was the experience of the artist.  The crowd formed and an energy took over.

Create an experience.

Food demonstrations and DIY crafts are a couple examples to get you thinking… But look at the “next level” of the artist photo… there’s a TV monitor hanging on the wall so you can see the actual creation of the drawing.  THIS is a great way to really bring the event alive.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 663 – Set the Stage

Quote: “To make something special you just have to believe it’s special”

Saturday: Try This!

Look at this idea, it’s totally something you can do.

Set the stage!

When I walked into the hotel room, instead of just having the room service menu on the desk, they thoughtfully positioned it on a clean white tray on the bed.

This little bit of staging helps to make you think “breakfast in bed” which is a perfect product of room service.

This is easy and reusable.  Once you buy the tray, you use it over and over…

Look for ways to make vignettes out of your product.  Whether it’s a display of products or the tray in the hotel… tell a story and evoke an emotion.

Try This!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 657 – How Small Details Make A Difference.

Quote: Life is a journey. Enjoy the ride!

Saturday: Try This

Enjoy, relax, take your time.  What does this mean?  This means be comfortable.

I enjoy being comfortable, I’m assuming you do… too.

Your customers also enjoy being comfortable.  Therefore, it’s important to consider ways to make them feel more at home.

This could be as simple as making sure your website has it’s certificate up to date, or having reading glasses for use to see small print on contracts or receipts.

Well…

This was a dream!  The grocery cart at Winn Dixie has actual cup holders fused to the handle area.  This small addition really makes it easy to enjoy your beverage while shopping the store.

Small attentions to detail make a difference!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 651 – Shop the Shops!

Quote: “Creativity is thinking up new things. Innovation is doing new things” Theodore Levitt

Saturday: Try This!

Do you take action?  I love the reminder of today’s inspiration…the reminder is to not stop at thinking of new ideas…. you must actually do new things!

One of the best places to find innovation with marketing is Disney World.  During your next visit… remember…there’s always a next visit.

On your next visit “Shop the Shops” — I’m not kidding… you don’t have to buy – but I do encourage you to shop.

When you do, oh my… inspiration can hit.. your creativity can sky rocket and believe it or not you will do things.

Look at this clever idea.

This is NOT a pizza or doughnut display…

This is a T shirt display!

That would be creative if the display stopped at atmosphere.  BUT IT DOESN’T!  It’s innovative!  These boxes contain T shirts that have either a Pizza or Doughnut theme in their design!

When you take a T shirt and carry out it’s theme to the packaging — WOW!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 645 – Disney Style Check List

Quote:  “Create a Problem OR Solve a Problem”

Saturday: Try This!

It’s Saturday!  I love Saturday!  It’s the time we get to review something I found in the “Real World” – it’s half the fun I have going shopping…

Look at this fun idea.

I came across it at Disney World.  I didn’t look to see who the author is… but it’s being sold inside one of the hotel gift shops… so it must be “approved” if you know what I mean.

Can you see the title?  “My ‘Way Too’ Excited To Go To a Disney Park Vacation Planner”

Here’s the genius part…

You know how overwhelming it is to go any amusement park.  You also know the money budgeting (or going over budget) aspect… right?!?  Well look at this.  You’re at Disney.  Spending Money at Disney.  Going to the Parks Spending Money.

NOW

You get to spend money buying a guide that encourages you to spend money on specific things!

I mean… “Must Eat” – yep, cotton candy, turkey leg… they are actually listed on a check list.  Well, anytime there is a check list you feel like you MUST check it off, right?

Oh goodness, you’ve got to do this at your business.  I mean you create a problem, then create a solution to solve the problem.

I guess we do this at our family business, we have a repair shop.  So when the customer is in getting their boat fixed, we suggest other items like cleaning or an oil change… dang.  I think we need a “Disney Style” check list!

Try This!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode #639 – How to Grow Your Kid Tribe

Quote: “Tell me and I Forget. Teach me and I Remember. Involve me and I Learn.”

Saturday: Try This!

Do you know what I love?  I love when I go to a store and find an amazing “Try This!” topic.  And I found this yesterday!

It was noon and it was a Friday Crew Lunch Day.  I happened to be “out and about” so I stopped by Dominos’ to pick up our pizzas.

This is such a great way to get kids involved in your business.  After all, kids are future buyers of pizza… think teenagers!

This also creates a bond with your brand.  The kids may not be able to tell you what “kid friendly is” but they sure know the places they feel welcome.

I remember this exact sort of set up at an old restaurant in our area called “Shakeys” – it was actually a sit down restaurant, but after your order was taken, you could go right up to the bank of windows and watch the pizzas being made… and to attract kids there was a step area to a platform, very similar to the Dominos example.

You might be thinking… but we don’t make pizza… being kid friendly could also be an area with toys, a cookie club, or a take home coloring book.  Um… I remember toys at the dentist, cookie club at the grocery store, and the coloring book from the bait store.

Look for a special way to involve your youngest tribe members!

Try This!
