Saturday: Try This!

Just when you think you don’t have space to display products, really you do.

This is a great example of how with a little creativity you can make space to feature a product.  Seriously, this was at a restaurant.  There was a tiny space on the countertop to the left of the cash registers.

The neat thing is this is not a “food” product its a T shirt!

They took the time to have shirts for sale and are created a display using shadow box frames.

It’s a display of the design AND a display to feature the products.  Both in a nice tight space.  They make money off of this counter space!

Take a look at your space and find the hidden treasures, meaning find the space you can put something for sale.  You don’t have to hang 40 shirts on a spinning rack — you can easily display ONE in a frame.  This idea is Amazing!

This quote seemed perfect for explaining why I picked this post as the Big Money Small Change topic.

When you learn to express the emotion of your product you are less interested in the superficial aspects of the product.

I sell an egg, asparagus, and bacon sandwich.

Great.

What did your visual look like?  Did you have a red and white checker table cloth, black plate, yellow napkin with the sandwich in the middle?

How about a white linen table cloth, white plate with gold rim, and water glass with beads of water glistening in the sun.

Maybe you had an egg, hunk of bacon, and some veggies on a cutting board

There are endless ways to display this sandwich.

But what emotion are you trying to evoke?  When you answer this question, you will attract your tribe.

Look at this post.  Early morning cruise and a fabulous breakfast sandwich.  It also has a fork… you can feel the temperature, hear the wildlife, smell the water… you are in the emotion of the sandwich.

You feel relaxed and ready to eat.

If they said, “hey come on out, cruise around the bay, and eat our sandwich from our world famous chef”. You’d talk about the same “sandwich” but you would not achieve the same “emotion”

Don’t impress… just express!

Look at this!

It’s a graet post with a beautiful photo and peaceful message fitting the vibe of the Yoga Studio — then there’s a twist.

“See you tonight” — with the times of classes.

It’s an implied closing for the sale — as a student “wavering” on attending class or a new person wondering if they should attend… they read it and BOOM! No options, we’ll see you tonight.

The photo gives the vibe and it’s followed through on the “see you tonight” – it’s easy AND it’s a great sales pitch without actually selling!

Well done!  An excellent way to increase sales by using all the hard work you’ve done to build the tribe.

Tell them a surprise!  It’s enticing but not a spoiler alert.  This was the preview for Subway I recently received… It actually stopped my scroll and I opened the email.

Now one thing I want to say about this preview… doesn’t it look like a classified ad?  I never really noticed how email previews resemble classifieds. And you know what…?

Treat them as such – look at the vital information, just enough to get you wanting more information!

Then I opened it.

YEA!

Free cookie!

And you all know how much  I love chocolate chip cookies.

I got a blog post and a cookie.

April 29, 2015… it was the day after my birthday.  I got my driving permit.  I made the cheerleading squad AND I got my braces off!

It was an amazing day! I mean one of those that I still remember.

Getting your braces off is a day you just don’t forget.  You simply feel like a new chapter of your life opens…

Well… instead of a simple “before / after” type of post, how about if you capture the emotion of the moment.

Look at how neat this post is… first, it’s a lovely young lady who looks thrilled to share her new smile… but the caption.  The caption is where you get your “big money small change moment”

LOOK

You can put yourself right back at 1985 and understand the whole new world of possibilities that open up to this girl and you know what – every parent that reads this wants this for their child, too.

When you get to the emotion of the post, you’ll achieve amazing engagement.

This visual Instagram post teaches a valuable lesson – you can publicize an event without actually creating a “who what when where” type of visual.

The cookies… yes, the cookies do it all for you.  I mean, don’t they look awesome?!?!  So much so that it caught my attention while I was scrolling.

Here’s what happened next… I needed to know if this was a cookie company or what the heck it is… it’s actually a company that creates ice skating costumes!  The cookies will be given away at their table at a flea market.

NEAT!

You get to know that YOU can have the cookies by visiting their special event.  It’s a very creative way to get all of the details to your customers without being predictable. It’s a great way to stop people in their tracks.

This is a great way to get a big money impact with a small money change!

Here’s a great “small change” idea… dress for success!

It works for your personal appearance, so why wouldn’t it work with your products?  Well, it does!

When you take a little extra time to “spruce” up your appearance you will make more money!  The packaging is your silent salesperson… but that doesn’t mean they need to stay quiet.

Take a second look at your products and determine what you can do to give them a face lift.

I love the way this necklace looks!  It’s a neat piece of jewelry but it’s enhanced by the thoughtful packaging.

If you were shopping for a gift, especially someone with a May birthday, the necklace is nice, but the card it’s attached to makes you WANT to give this as a gift.

Start to view your packaging as the way you “dress” your products.  This also applies to your photos… update and express your style by telling stories with your photos!
