“I want to increase sales”  Do you feel like this?  You want to increase sales…?

YES, in business you want to make more money and this is done by increasing sales… so how do you do this?

Today I got a phone call from a telemarketer telling me how she’d love to sit down with me to discuss how to relist my website on Google so it can see all of the services I offer so people don’t miss out on what we sell.

You know what I did?

I said I’m not interested.  I don’t even use the internet for finding customers — OK that was a little bit of a stretch, but I wanted to get of the phone.  So she said, “what do you do?” My answer, “it’s proprietary”

Tired doesn’t even begin to describe how annoyed I am by these types of calls.  Here’s what comes next… you meet with the person and they say all the right things, and next you know you’re signing up for a monthly service of $500.

OK, so you know what I did?  Opened my email program and sent out an email and generated one sale for $3,000.

Don’t reinvent the wheel!  Win one customer at a time… I love the concept of this quote.

The reason I could generate one sale today was because of the email and constant communication I have with the customers on my list.

You don’t need to put an ad and continually try to find “new” customers — capture customers and engage them.  Become an expert and SPOIL them with information, fun, and a sense of belonging.  Make them part of your tribe!

When they like you there will come a point that you can send out an email and generate a $3,000 sale, too!

It’s that simple.  Create a list, talk to the list, find products the list needs!

But here’s the deal… it’s simple but not easy. This will take work.

However, if you want results this one customer at a time process works… if you don’t want to put in effort – you better chat with that woman I talked to on the phone today!

Isn’t today’s quote AMAZING?!!!

YES… you must lead with content and relationship building… it’s like our Tuesday and Thursday topics collide!

This means the content you create is a very important foundation to your future success.  When you switch your mindset from selling to relationships it becomes much easier to create the content that once seemed irrelevant.

You work to get your “tasks” done each day – whether it’s shipping, billing, or even cleaning… and then you need to sit down and create some magnificent form of writing and HA it seems like a tortured task vs. important relationship gift.

Your customers need this content to transform to a tribe.  It’s the thing that makes you different.

Why is this important?

Well… do you enjoy receiving email after email where someone is only selling you something?  See… I hate it.  I truly hate opening an email where it’s all about “this on sale” “get it before it’s gone” –

BUT…

I love getting emails that teach me.  When I learn something new I feel closer to the leader. They automatically elevate our relationship to a higher position.

And when you think about it… our relationship is totally one sided!  Sure, I feel something via the message, but the person writing is not writing “to” me… they might be thinking of the “idea” of me… but they are not creating an individual message just for me!

This is what you need to do with your “selling”.  Instead of “bargain, bargain, bargain” write to make each person feel special individually with content they want!  Anticipate their needs, give them a treasure, and make them feel special.

This is how you transform your customers “one and done” from “infinity”

I just discovered something.  I’ve been trying to teach to a “system” or “process” called Tribeology.

That’s wrong.

I just discovered that Tribeology is actually a way of life.

Hear me out.

The reason I discovered this is due to one of the 4 online seminars I’m taking right now… the task was to write “my” story.  The reason I’m selling the thing I’m selling.

Well, I just chronicled my journey in formulating our Profit Center, the Boat Club.  It was a very slow growth process… until I implemented Tribeology.

Now here’s the secret, I didn’t know it was Tribeology at the time.  Looking back I can easily see it, but in the middle of it, I had no idea.

I thought I was just doing email marketing.

And I was.

But email marketing done at the same time you implement the 5 C’s and target your most loved customer will transform into Tribeology.

It’s not a process, this is a way of life.

The reason we struggle with content and having to “find something” to post is because we haven’t completely committed to the “way of life” that Tribeology requires.

Commit.

Utilize your marketing skills but Live Tribeology.  This is your vibe.  This is your tribe. This is your business.

Adopt this vibe throughout all aspects of your everyday transactions and it will become easy to post, enjoyable to communicate, and exciting to repeat.

and that brings me full circle to today’s quote…

Five Simple Words

“if not now then when”

Facebook was “down” today.  If your whole list and economic security has been built on their platform, today you did not make sales.  Today you are NOT in control.

Do you want to be dependent on Facebook or risk a Google smack?

Or do you want financial freedom by attracting an ideal customer, transforming from “one and done” to “Infinity”, and controlling your future by cultivating your private list as an asset of your business?

Commit.

IF NOT NOW THEN WHEN

Do you have the best intentions, but can’t find the time?  It’s like when you have an amazing idea, you think it will be great, but then “poof” the time passes.

For example, I have a brilliant idea for the Christmas holiday shopping season and next thing you know, it’s December 23rd…

OR

You want to do a welcome to summer event, and the ice doesn’t go off the lake till early May (not that I’m still bitter about that happening last year)

Here’s the deal.  You can make most things happen.  But you need a plan.  And that starts with old fashion paper and a pen.  Just brainstorm the ideas you want and the results you hope to achieve.  (the results on paper should be the motivator you need to get going)

I love using this type of plan/reward get going style when I think of my email list and the creation of content.  Not content you create on a consistent basis.  Special content… for example my booklet, The 5 C’s of the Infinity Marketing Machine.  Content that is designed to attract people to take action.

SO… using the plan/reward/ get going style… this type of booklet has a reward of growing an email list of people I’m trying to attract.  It’s hard work, but worth it when it’s finished!

NOW, here’s our “Big Money Small Idea” I got as an email from Pillsbury.

They sent out an email “Get your free gift” – it’s a download recipe cookbook.  They personalize the email and even include the day I joined their list.

Why would you want to send an email like this?

You already have someone on your list… what’s the point?

You will gain engagement.  This is a big deal.

More important is the result.  You can get rid of people with dead emails or that do not engage… emails do cost money.  If you are sending out several thousand emails that are not opened, you are being charged.

SO… you might want to create a neat download and send it out to your list – you’ll find out who is engaged and ready to receive your information, build your tribe!  HOWEVER, it is also a fantastic way to clean up your list and save money!
