I was flipping through my feed and came across this post and a couple ideas came to mind.

A couple ideas that you can keep in mind as you look for free things to implement that will increase your sales.

If you remember going to a Blockbuster “back in the day” – you’ll remember a couple things… spending up to an hour to pick the best movie.  Think about that… you spent time at a store deciding what movie you were going to watch.

Now we binge watch on our phones.

It was an event!

The first comment on this post stopped me in my tracks… she said it was an event and it really was.

Make your shopping experience “an event” – the words you use in your post are the equivalent to walking around a Blockbuster and dreaming about the best movie you want to see.

You read a post and get drawn into the details. If done well, you will imagine yourself using the product… much like when you picked up a video and thought about the people you would watch the movie with and what a great time it would be…

Then you walked by the candy and popcorn… and soda! You could almost taste the popcorn!  Sell things that make the product you are selling a complete experience.  Take it to the next level and by all means make it easy for your customer.

What goes with a movie… popcorn! If you sell a product with a natural product pair – sell it.

So that’s two great ideas for free from this one post… create an event and make it easy for your customer by selling the companion products!

Ahhhh Good Morning!  I know… I broke my consistency rule.  Typically this post comes out 3 hours earlier.

Normally I write the post the evening before – but last night I was in an incredibly distracted — OK not good mood.  NOTHING good would have come from writing, so I went to bed.

Sometimes you need to evaluate your mood and if it breaks consistency – it breaks consistency.

That being said, I woke up refreshed and found a “Cash” topic right away…

Look at this great example from the Chamber of Commerce in Wisconsin…  It had this beautiful gazebo with flowers.  It looks so pretty.

The caption is great and invites you to visit the area!

Then I noticed something cool.

Below the photo are blue dots indicating more photos – so I swiped.

The next photo is also from the town — but it’s a chalk message from the sidewalk from a group that celebrated “girls weekend”

I thought, “how cool is this?”

The first photo shows how beautiful the town is — the second photo suggests a reason to visit…

Then I swiped again.

There were more photos!

I got to this one that showed a sidewalk sign for a sale at a store!

Amazing!

They were able to show that there are cute stores without being all “bargain bargain bargain” salesy!  Is “salesy” a word?  It is now!

I guess what I’m saying is that this post is one that tells a story of the product, in this case the chamber’s product is the town… it does it through photos…

Think about this as you promote your business.

Use the one sentence to plant the seed “what plans are you making this weekend?” a photo to stop their attention – then back up the question with photo suggestions of how the customer can answer the question!
