TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 796 – Wake Up #BK2E

Quote: “Act Fast”

Thursday: Infinity Customer

I was half awake, listening to the morning news… and this story came on about Ellen and the Former President at a football game together.  There was outrage… then she gave a monologue about how everyone needs to be nice.

It was a lovely story.

About 30 minutes later, a little awaker, I heard the story again and the words, “Be Kind to Everyone” stuck out to me.

Back to sleep I went.

THEN I heard the story again… and boom.  An Idea.  This was going to be a well searched thought, popular in the 24 hour news cycle.

BUT if I act fast – I can make a terrific Infinity Product.

About an hour later… a new collection was created on my website!

When you have an idea, run with it.  This was something that took a little time, but here’s the deal… it’s “done” – the hard work is ready to sit until, “Infinity” – it has the ability to be reproduced over and over and over.

You can do this, too! You just have to take action… and sometimes quickly!

But in the mean time, feel free to take a peek and visit the products, feel free to purchase these items, too!  A great message that make great gifts for birthdays, the Holidays, Thank You’s and even “just because”.

Visit the collection at www.bk2e.com

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 693 – If the Shoe Fits

Saturday:  Try This

What can you sell over and over and over?  This is the question you need to answer to make money.

I was visiting Disney World and came across this unique product.  I’m sharing it with you because it’s a perfect example of an infinity product.  The blank shoes are perfect “as is”.

BUT

Look at the chalkboard… you can have the shoes custom painted by an artist!

The stand is outside the store and the entire process becomes it’s own event that draws attention AND sales. The result is a cute one of a kind product.

For the store owner it’s a neat way to interact with customers and provide a custom experience without keeping a bunch of inventory of colors and designs!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 655 – Start Thinking Infinity. Start Thinking Infinity. (get it?)

Quote:  “We are what we repeatedly do.” – Aristotle

Thursday: Content and Consistency

Yesterday I went to the eye Doctor… the fun part of the trip was trying on frames.  The funny part is that OP currently has 80s style sun glasses… it’s like a blast from the past.  A warm friendly blast.

That got me thinking of old commercials, mainly because they used an old magazine ad to promote their new line of frames.

Anyway…

Do you remember the “Rinse and Repeat” commercial for shampoo?  Even if you don’t remember the original airing, its one of those brilliant moments in marketing that’s been studied and taught ever since the 80s.

The woman gets done washing her hair, rinses her hair, then repeats the process… thus, using more of the product, and causing larger consumption.

Well, the rinse and repeat also works for Infinity Products.  The over and over characteristic is what we are striving for in our business.

Sure… we have our regular “main” product – but I’m going out on a limb and saying… YOU NEED a profit center that is a “rinse and repeat” Infinity Product.  Something that has no upper limit that you can easily replicate.

Especially if you have a small footprint you’re working in… you need to maximize your available space!

For example, if you have visitors… let’s say in a resort… souvenirs are amazing.  T shirts are hot sellers.  BUT, it’s hard to have many designs and keep lots of sizes… what happens if you buy a heat press, design transfers, and white T shirts and then make on demand?!  You eliminate LOTS of inventory space but still give your guests what they want to buy!

An Infinity Product can also be something like a gym/club membership.  Is there something in your business that you can market or create that gives a club atmosphere that people will pay for?

Here’s the fun part… you may be thinking physical “real world” club… but how about an online “VIP” club where you form a private Facebook Group and you host weekly information sessions, etc… what CAN you do that will allow you to create another profit center with steady monthly income?

We started a boat club about 10 years ago as our Infinity Product… it’s worked great we buy a boat, well a fleet of them, and sell memberships for seasonal use.  It allows us to maximize our space and increase our profits.

Start thinking infinity!  Repeat. Start thinking infinity! Repeat.

There is a way to create an infinity product at your business.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 631 – What Are The Kids Doing These Days?

Quote: “Many people die at 25 and aren’t buried until they’re 75.” Benjamin Franklin

Thursday: Infinity Customer

So what can you learn from “the kids” these days?  Actually… quite a bit.

Now I absolutely hate the line of thinking that you can “give up” your social media posting to a teenager or that you can call a “young” person to fix a computer, quite frankly you can’t.

The teen might know how to use a social media account, but they won’t understand the psychology or branding needed to effectively use it.  Same for a computer, a teen that can press buttons but doesn’t remember dial up internet, is at a disadvantage for troubleshooting.

But I digress

There is a lot to learn from those in their 30’s about internet marketing.  It’s something I’ve been studying for about a year… and you know what… when you combine your “old school” marketing skills with “new school” marketing tactics, woah… you’re going to rock it.

Can I say “rock it”?  I’m not sure about that… anyway.

Last year I attended a conference for a software program.  The vast majority, like I’d guess 80% of the room, was younger than me.  That’s crazy, I’m not even 50 yet… so there were lots of “young” people in the room.  Now… at one point… awards were handed out to recognize those that have made one million dollars using the software.  Well, over 400 received the award.

Think about that.

Four-hundred people, primarily in their 30’s, had made over one million using a software that has only been around 5 years.  HUMMMM… something VERY special is going on here.  Did I mention that there were 4,000 at the conference and each paid around $1,500 to be there ($6,000,000)?  Yeah, lots of money in the room.

Next… last week I went to another conference.  Again, most younger than me.  The leader has created several companies on line… each making over a million dollars.   In this room, she enrolled 80 people to pay $10,000 each for her special learning group.  One conference, $800,000 plus the 400*297 to attend $118,800 — plus swag sales – that’s a million dollar conference.

So where am I going with this?

“Old people” don’t know how to price things.

It’s something I’m learning and trying to fully grasp what the heck is going on…  I’ve raised prices but still start to wonder if I price things too high.  But I regularly take a course online for $497 – in fact, when I watch the webinar and wait patiently for the price, it doesn’t shock me if it’s $797 or $997.

IF you come from a pricing mindset that you created the online course/info product and price from your efforts, you lose.  You need to look at what people are willing to pay and price in line with that.

Here’s why…

The online course is the greatest revolution of our lifetime.  You work your butt off to create the course and then it’s done. You sell, sell, and sell.  You simply market and gain new buyers, but you do not create the product again.  You don’t package it. You don’t mail it. You don’t travel to a location to give a presentation. You just go away and carry on with your day to day life, the computer takes care of it all!

This is where “the kids” have one up on us “old folks”.

They charge more.  Here’s why… they get others to “sell it” for them!  They mark up the price and then set up affiliate programs.  So if you sell a program for $197 and sell 1000 of the program you make $197,000.  NOW… if you raise the program to $497 to be competitive with a “low cost” comparative program BUT you offer a 50% affiliate program.  THEN you actually sell more and make more.  Imagine if you sell an extra 500 but you make $248.50, you pick up an extra $450,000!   Not to mention that the original 1,000 was sold at $497.

It makes your head spin, doesn’t it.

AGAIN, you create the program once and sell it over and over and over.

THIS IS THE POWER OF AN INFINITY PRODUCT.

One more…

That software conference I attended last year… they have 77,000 users.  The program costs roughly $297 a month…  That totals $22,869,000 dollars A MONTH.

Again, it’s time to learn a few things from “the kids” cause they are at a completely different level of business and marketing.

Learn this!

PS:  I looooooove capitalism.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 626 – You Need an Infinity Product

Quote: “Your income is directly related to your philosophy, not the economy.”

Friday: Big Money Small Change

What is your Infinity Product?  Since I’m spending the week reviewing a few of my favorite posts – I thought this one would be fun… the Infinity Product mixed with the concept of profit centers will help insulate you from economic forces… so read on and enjoy!

Repost from 8/11/17 – E157

What you believe, you achieve.  If you believe you have money, you will.  If you believe you are poor, you are.  And remember there is a huge difference between being broke and being poor.  This all comes down to what you believe.

Well, what you believe and the action you take based on that belief.

Think about it, if income were based on the economy, no one would make money in an economic downturn.  There are people that make money regardless of if the economy is good or bad.  In fact some make a tremendous amount when the economy is bad.  And by economy, every business has a national economy and a local economy.  If you are a weather dependent business, you realize that the national economy could be stellar, but if there’s no snow and you own a ski resort…  your local economy sucks.  Which begs the point, how is it your philosophy?

Profit Centers are the ability to get all those eggs out of one basket.

It is today’s reality that we can reach unlimited local economies.  Granted you can’t move your ski resort (or make it show).  So, what can you do?  Sell season passes prior to the start of the season, think of it like a subscription based business, you pay regardless of if you use the product.  Next, enhance your online presence.  If you have a retail store with wholesale relationships, sell online.  Start to diversify so weather is less of a factor.  During a good weather season the main profit center feeds the others, but in a bad weather season, the secondary profit centers need to mitigate the risk.

Finally, if you want to elevate your income potential you have to become an Infinity Product business.  This is not just making money while you sleep.  We all can do that.  Put a product online and the next morning you wake up to sales.  That’s cool.  And I love it.  But you still need to make the product and ship it.  There’s a lot of work that goes into that “money while you sleep” concept.

What I’m talking about is your business needs a component that grows unlimited.  Stop for a moment and think about Amazon.  It is unlimited in it’s size potential, it’s kind of like the joke… “I was surfing the internet and reached the end”.  It’s impossible to reach the end of the internet, much like it’s impossible for Amazon to stop growing.   Amazon does not have a stopping point because more vendors will continue to join and sell things.  They are not inhibited by physical limitations.  They are different from a physical shopping mall… when all 100 store fronts filled up, the mall’s income potential (via rent) is reached.  What is your Amazon product?

Just to be clear, I’m not saying “what is the product you are going to sell on Amazon?”  I’m saying, “what is the product you are going to create to add to your business that has an unlimited in growth potential such as Amazon?”

To stir your creative juices… I have a real estate broker’s license in Illinois.  I live out of the State.  To participate in the continuing education requirement it used to involve my physically traveling to Illinois to sit in classroom training.  Therefore, the course was taught by one instructor with 30 students at $250 each.  OR… $7,500 per day ($250 x 30)…

The real estate school is a small business owned by the instructor who travels from area to area renting a classroom in cities around the State.  So in addition to promotion he has travel expenses, room rental cost, and a max number of students that fit in a class.  I took his class a couple years ago and I did not travel to Illinois.  He added a webinar format in compliance with Illinois license requirements.  Are you ready for the fun part?  The webinar was a simple video camera at the back of the classroom focused on him while he taught the standard course.  He had his 30 students in the room, but online there were 184 enrollees!!!!  He picked up an extra $46,000 (184 x $250) just by adding an unlimited growth product, otherwise known as an Infinity Product.

So I ask the question again…

What is your Infinity Product?

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode #558 – Nerd Party!

Quote: “Possibilities do not add up. They multiply!”

Thursday: Infinity Customer

The fourth “C” of the Infinity Marketing Machine is Customer, more specifically Infinity Customer. This is a person that joins your tribe and stays.  They are very loyal and purchase items “over and over and over”.  We like Infinity Customers.

Now… the thing to keep in mind is this… Your Infinity Customer can leave at any time, so don’t neglect your relationship.

It’s important that the information you provide is useful… but the other thing that is important is that you provide items they want to buy!

I was looking on Pinterest a couple days ago and came across this!

Can you see why this is important for us to study?

This is an Infinity Product!  Remember, the infinity product is one that can be replicated over and over.  But I really like this because it’s niche based.  If you had a business of nerds as your base.  This is your product!

T Shirts for science loving introverts that apparently don’t like pants.  haha

But look at the significance.  It’s a gray shirt with different words under a common theme that is niche based.

YES.

Learn from this product – because as you want to make money and seek that $1/per month per person on your email list, the infinity product is critical to your success.

Next Step… sit down and brainstorm your niche and the type of product that is desired from your group, then provide it!  If needed, throw them a nerd party!

ProfitCenterCoach.com – E481 – Why You Need an Infinity Product.

“Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits.”

Friday: Big Money Small Change

Do you want to make money while you sleep?  This is the best thing ever.  When you wake up, check your email, and find that you have an order!

This is not new.

Prior to email… we used to walk to our mail box and see envelopes with checks.  Remember the informercial (before they were called informercials) you can make money while you sleep with one small ad!  I know you remember.  Then all you had to do was send in a couple dollars to find out the secret which was placing small classified ads in newspapers around the country.

Now with the internet, this doesn’t seem like a big deal.  But it was a HUGE deal back in the day, this kit included addresses of all newspapers across the country!  (not that I ever bought one of these packets)

OK, I’ll admit it.  I have a rule.  I can write down the 800 number (or nowadays, the website) but I cannot buy anything until morning.  OH my… someone is going to have to ban me from buying things on Instagram. Same thing, the ads are sooooooo enticing!

But back to the make money while you sleep.

Here’s the spin.  How about making “big money” over and over and over.

This is the new goal for a small business.  You need to learn to create an Infinity Product.  This is a product that has no upper limit. It rejuvenates itself.  For example, a downloadable book!  You create it once, and sell it again and again.

The reason I mention it is because it’s fun with something like this sells… you can check out my Best and Simple Social Media Planner that I sell on Etsy.  I love when it sells.  It inspires me to pass this message on to you all!  Work on your Infinity Products… yes, make more than one!
