Grab Your Free Gift: The 5 C’s of the Infinity Marketing Machine

“What you lack in talent can be made up with desire, hustle and giving 110% all of the time”

Wednesday: Midweek Motivation

Give it your all 110% of the time is a great idea, but it’s exhausting.  How about expanding your own definition of talent?  Today, I went on an adventure to court.

I know… just a day in the life… but we have a disagreement with our asphalt job so, when disagreements are unresolved… court happens.

Anyway — I was sitting in court and looked down at the floor.  The floors are perfectly vacuumed – I mean the carpet goes up on the baseboard, too – it was clean… in the corners!  Then I looked on the baseboard AND it was dust free.

This was in the area where the public sits and waits… I thought to myself, wow someone has some amazing talent and pride to make it this clean.  I appreciated it.

Next… We stopped at McDonald’s and the gal that took our order was speaking Spanish to the customer in front of us, then took our order in English.  But the first group came back and asked a question in Spanish and while she was talking to us in English, she talked to him… it was amazing – what a gift of languages.  Talent, raw talent.

It may be such a thing that the “hustle/grind” that exhausts us could slow down a bit if we looked at our gifts as talent and recognized them as talents and gifts and started to put them to work.  What I’m saying is, cut yourself some slack… you are talented and surrounded by talent.

“When you wake up and need a nap.”

Wednesday: Midweek Motivation

HA!  How do you like today’s motivation?  I’m a little tired, so no worms for me, right?  WRONG!

Here’s the deal, quit trying to be someone you are not.  If you wake up and need a nap, yet going through your head is, “the early bird catches the worm”… you already start your day at a disadvantage because you are not operating at 100%.

You need to know your own strengths and how to make them soar.  If your body needs sleep, but you start on a frantic pace to get the worm… you are actually competing with a bunch of people waiting for some worm to come across their path.

Now… if you happen to sleep, get up a little later, and have a brilliant idea that you take action on… let’s say, you grab a garden hose, turn it on, water the grass to make several worms come to the surface – the refreshing sleep that spurred a brilliant idea served you better!

Don’t fall into the trap of doing something because you “think” you should or because you’ve always done it that way… do what is best for you!

As for the Koala… they sleep all but 4 hours a day!  If you ever have the chance to hold one, OMG, do it.  We had the opportunity at a zoo in Australia.  But really, they are only up 4 hours a day!  YAWN.

“It’s all about finding the calm in Chaos.” – Donna Karan

Wednesday: Midweek Motivation

Happy Halloween!  I decided not to go with a “spooky” inspiration and instead focus on the chaos… well the calm in the chaos!

That should give you a little insight into my past couple days.  🙂

I launched a new site and it’s been pretty successful.  What I’m doing is “testing” the processes I’m looking forward to teaching all of you.  It’s one thing to teach theory… but I’m not big into that.

I prefer results.

But… the path to results is often messy.  ANNNND that sums up my past week.

When you have that “chicken/egg” feeling and everything seems like it needs to be done before everything else can be done… my advice.  Pick something.  And just go!

SO I did.

It’s sucked… but I have a firm grasp of what it’s like to be the student in my own world and now I can make it “less suck”  hahaha

Stay tuned!

And by all means… KEEP GOING!

Wednesday: Mid-Week Motivation

What to do when you’re just not motivated.  Hey, we all get into a mood where we just aren’t motivated to do our work.,

Welcome to Wednesday’s mid week motivation!  I wasn’t motivated.  It’s been a tough week.  We’ve had personnel and equipment challenges at my business as well as a couple personal challenges, and right now I’m feeling pretty wrung out.  I just can’t get my head around writing this post.

Well, I didn’t.

Sometimes it is okay to have another team member that can step in and support you when needed.  That’s what happened in this case as this post was ghost written. So, hey everybody, take time to cultivate a reliable team that can support you in your time of need.  Even if it’s writing a motivation post when you just can’t find the motivation…  Ugghhh.

If my blog is helping you… I love it! Come and join my group for more!  start here

Episode #377 – When Bad Habits Become Good

“Your net worth to the world is usually determined by what remains after your bad habits are subtracted from your good ones.” – Benjamin Franklin

Welcome to Midweek Motivation! Do you have bad habits?  Of course you do.  We all do.

The question is how many good habits do you have and what does your balance sheet look like?  Meaning… Benjamin Franklin was a pretty smart guy.  I don’t think we should start to look at our balance sheet as an excuse to have bad habits.  That’s kinda defeating the purpose.

Rather, understand that your bad habits are just that… habits.  Just like we have good habits we also have bad habits.  What we do repetitively is what we become, therefore that bad habit can go away by implementing a better habit in it’s place.

So for me… I love Diet Pepsi.  It’s a bad habit. I drink too much of it… so I’m wondering if a better habit is Diet Coke?  HAHA — no, a better habit would be iced tea or even better…water.  See… bad habit becomes good habit.

I’ll be sure to think about that as I enjoy my Diet Pepsi!  You see my Bad Habit is good! Yummmmmmm

I’m not sure if that was really motivating, but it did make me laugh!  Have an awesome day.

Episode #358 – Got an Idea… Take Action!

“Ideas have a short shelf life. You must act on them before the expiration date.”

ACTION!  Take action.  That’s the result we’re going for with today’s Midweek Motivation!

Have you ever walked out into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, had an amazing idea and by the time you grab the orange juice you’ve forgotten it?  What about those most brilliant ideas you have in the shower and they’re gone by the time you turn off the water?

OH it’s maddening!

That’s why it’s important to discuss this topic.  So step A, write down the idea!  Even if it’s the idea that you have that wakes you up in the middle of the night.  Write it down!  If you’re anything like me, you’ll forget it by morning.

Now… StepOne – once you’re in the habit of writing it down, take action!  If it’s a great idea… you’ve got to just go for it.  Did you catch that — this is Step One, that’s because, writing it down is just a pre-step!  Of course taking action means charting a plan with a goal. Check my website for ideas on that, but by all means, take action!

Episode #346 – Just Keep Going!

“It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you don’t stop” Confucius

You need to keep making progress.  Sometimes it doesn’t feel like you are making any forward progress… but you are.

It’s a simple idea… but think about this.  If you are not moving forward you are moving backward, you’re never standing still.  The reason is because someone else is moving.  The someone else is your competition!  If you are moving toward a goal, then you stop… but someone you are competing with continues to move forward, they have one extra day, week, month on you!

I was a competitive baton twirler for many years.  There’s a trick called a neck spin.  You bend your chin to your chest, tip your body forward, put baton on the exposed part of your neck and let it spin.  There’s a little more of a technique involved… ok a lot more… but you get the idea.

I could not get this trick.  Try as I did, I simply could not figure out how to control the motion.  But, I kept trying.  Not every day, but I did put the effort in… 8 years later, it all clicked.  Although it never seemed like I was making progress on this skill, I must have because all of a sudden I was like…”is that it?” that’s no big deal at all.

So when you’re feeling like something just isn’t going the way you want it to… keep going, don’t stop, and sometime it will all just fall in place!  Happy Mid-week Motivation!

Here is a page on my website of how to get motivated… it’s pretty useful if you need a little push to keep going!
