Today think about fear.  Think about all of the times you’ve been afraid to do… anything!  Life is full of fear, or challenges, let’s look at the classic example of riding a bike.

You get on the bike, and you fall, but finally you get it.

And you’re not afraid.

(until your bell bottoms gets stuck in the front wheel and you fly over the handlebars – true story)

But most people conquer their fear and move on. When they look back there is no longer fear but a journey they completed.

What is it TODAY that is making you fearful?  In a day, week, month, year – will you look back at this challenge and think, “no big deal?”

Then get on with it.  Conquer your fear!

Take action today.

How’s your social campaign doing?  Do you have it scheduled… I mean it’s like an advertising campaign, right…

Wrong.

The fun part about building a tribe is to nurture it.  This is so much different from an advertising campaign.

Advertising campaigns you place ads and look for results.  The best result being an increase in sales.

With a tribe building process you want results.  And you’ll see financial results.  But it’s going to look different from advertising.  You’ll be focused on sending out information that your customers want, and sometimes need without even knowing it.

You are building loyalty that an advertising campaign will never achieve.

The opportunity to turn a customer from “one and done” into an Infinity Customer is a privilege.  You GET the opportunity to talk to them over and over — on a regular basis.

This is when we need to be consistent.

We need to make the commitment to our customer to provide regular content that they want!  This is how we get them to know, like, and trust us!

It’s so much different from advertising…

Just like the quote says, your tribe building efforts are a commitment not a campaign.

This totally made my day.  I’m totally serious, I had a happy grin because I got this for free!

If you wear contacts you know what this is… travel size eye solution!  BUT there’s also a new contact case inside.

Anytime you get a new contact case it’s amazing!  I equate it to getting a new toothbrush at your visit to the dentist office…

But NO tooth drilling here.

I happened to stop at my local convenience store to get gasoline and soda.  That’s when I saw it… an entire table with a bunch of stuff on it.  Just random health and beauty aids laying on a table with a sign in magic marker that said, one free with purchase.

This made me buy MORE stuff like chips…

Ya know, I’m still a little exited about this!

I’m sure they were re-merchandising and not wanting to throw stuff out – but it was awesome!  Like a little surprise party… you should try this.  If you have stuff to get rid of just throw it on table with a note that says “One free with purchase”

That’s it.

I came across this great idea in my feed… and as the quote states, “you’re only one decision away from a totally different life” – so what is this one decision?

Think Differently.

You have a product – but how can you repackage or rebrand and reach an entirely different market?

Look at this example…

The company uses it’s bracelet customizer to make individual bracelets in colors and charms you desire… but this is one step further.

They suggest that the customizer be used to create a bracelet for social causes.  The example is for a fundraiser for a kidney transplant.

It’s an easy way for a product to be used as a fundraiser – but think about the upsell for a minute.  Instead of selling one bracelet – you sell 50.

Hummmmmmmm

That’s how to think differently for a big money small change idea!

It’s one of my favorite topics.  Price vs. value.

If you buy a book what’s it worth?

The answer varies, Books are around $25 — however, I just looked on ebay.  If you buy a Harry Potter first edition it’s $1,500.  There is also a set of Napoleon Hill manuscripts for $550,000.

These books have a cover, pages, and binding.

The ironic thing is, we typically want new, and new is more expensive… yet the new book is $25 and the old books are $550,000.

So which book is the best value?

I suppose you could buy the Harry Potter or Napoleon Hill book(s) and resell them and make a profit.  So your value could vary.

But what about the words on the inside of the pages.  What if the $25 book is a book with 3,000 ideas to make money and you use one to make $40, and another to make $300, and another to make $2,500.  The value of this book becomes much higher than the materials comprising the book.

Price vs. Value is a worthwhile conversation.

Price is what a customer pays, but value is what they will receive from purchasing.

Focus on value.

When communicating with your customers fill in the blanks to satisfy what they are looking for, provide value.

Think of you and your competitors as a the paper and cover of a book – but where you will shine is as the ideas in the book!  Make yourself worth more than the paper, give your customer value.

When you provide the most value to your customer the customer turns into the tribe you want. You want people to hang out with you, giving them value, more value they they seek is an excellent way to turn customers into infinity customers!

“Is the water wet fluffy?”asked the flirty girl of our captain on the scuba charter.  The captain was more interested in the fish… so it was kinda nauseating.

Then flirty girl said, “I have a real question, this time.”

This just makes you ponder… what questions do your customers have?

And the answer is… lots and lots of questions.  But more important than the questions, are the answers!  And anticipating what question they are REALLY asking.

Sure… answer the question asked, but go one step further and answer the follow up… for example, I’m regularly asked what times someone can use their boat if it’s being stored in our warehouse.

What the customer is REALLY asking is “what the heck do I do with my boat if I come back and you’re closed?”

The important goal of content is to give your customer what they want at the right time.  This is the ideal purpose of an FAQ list.  It’s not a set of hypothetical questions.  Create a list of questions that you are actually asked…. answer them, and then answer the follow up questions.

Really make your list valuable — then you can use it as a “home base” for future social media posts — you can make a special “top questions” series that link back to the page.

It’s a great way to make content that is useful AND ongoing!
