This is an immediate feedback opportunity.  Ask one question at the time someone checks out… and put it on a touch screen.

I stopped at a local convenience store and this popped up when the sale cashed out…

It’s a super simple question… how was the experience… just touch the red dot.

There’s no explanation of how to even use the touch screen.

It’s simple and the gal at the counter says they get lots of people that participate.  Imagine the trend statistics this creates.  You can see how your customers feel, immediately and make changes right away.

Sometimes it might be a little scary to let your customers see your behind the scenes… but sometimes it’s fun.

Everyone likes to feel special.  And one of the best ways to do this is to give them a sneak peek.

Look at this post…

What a great way to use a special event, the photo shoot, to give your customers a unique view of HOW the photo is created.

Everyone has bought pizza.   But rarely do you think about the photo shoot and it gives you a great way to see the product in a whole new light – pun intended!

Will it translate into sale…

It’s a cool way to say “hey look at our product” without saying “buy buy buy”

It’s also very inexpensive to do this marketing tip.  Just remember that people love a sneak peek!  Give them what they want.

If you’re “stuck” and having trouble with your content direction… ask yourself, “Who am I creating content for?”

If you say my tribe… or my customers… or people.

You need to reevaluate your targets and goals!

Content is best created for  your ideal customer.  Think of that one person you want to attract, or maybe that one customer you want to repel.

Sheeh — yes, this works in the reverse too.  The person you can’t stand is obviously picking you for a reason – figure out what it is that is attracting them and RUN!  Do something that stops that invitation.

Alright back to the ideal customer.

Think of that perfect customer.  The one that pays you on time. The one that orders products and services from you. The one that makes your live enjoyable and profitable.

Now imagine you had 20 of those people to work with!  What a joy.

Write down the characteristics of this person… is it a man/woman, age, schooling, hobbies, likes, dislikes, height/weight, etc… just keep going and get specific.

NOW.  Think of this person and answer the question “What content am I going to create?”

If you have your ideal customer in mind… the answer to this question becomes easy!

Now go, do this exercise.

Start a new profit center… and start it small.

Earlier this year I noticed this place card on the table at the restaurant and just had to share it.  In a area where you would expect to find the “special of the day” or a list of drinks you have an advertisement for swag!

This is a restaurant that’s enhanced it’s revenue with a new and unrelated profit center.  They sell food… and T Shirts.

AND they tell you about it during the time you’re most captivated.  There aren’t many times you actually read anything put in front of you other than waiting in line for a bathroom… right?!

So, there are TWO take-aways from this week’s “Try This” — one, add a new profit center, and two, promote things in the areas of your business where you have a captive audience.

Here’s a small and sweet idea — COOKIES!  Learn from this amazing idea.  Not that you want to bake cookies, although I always think that is a great idea. 🙂

I’m talking about what’s on the cookies.

This week is the National Baton Twirling Championships.  Most people don’t follow baton twirling, but I do! I competed for about 20 years and now, with social media, it’s a blast to continue to watch what is happening in my sport.

And then there were cookies…

This popped up on my feed a couple days ago.  It’s from the local Target.  The bakery, knowing that baton nationals are in town, decided to make frosted sugar cookies with adorable baton designs on them!

Lots and lots of people go to Target – even on vacation.

This is such an amazing idea figure out how to make this small change at your business.  How can you “welcome” an outside event visiting your area to buy from you?

These are ordinary sugar cookies, with ordinary frosting — but designed with simple words they become extraordinary!

What do Trains and Ice Cream have to do with each other?  Not a combination you automatically think of, but, when I visited a train museum in Florida, right on the counter, next to the train schedule was a pile of fliers for the local ice cream shop.

I saw this and thought I had to share it with you!

It’s a great idea because people visiting the train station are often the people that would be out for the day on “entertainment” journeys and ready to spend money on another experience!

Look for this type of opportunity and form a partnership.  If you have a natural audience share it, whether it’s online or in person, this is a great way to expand your traffic and reach.

After all, you need traffic, and sometimes, free traffic is super valuable!

What do you think when you read today’s quote?  Do you think, people with education change the world… then get a little queasy when you think about your education and resentful.

Or maybe you have a great deal of education and wonder why you haven’t lived up to the quote.

Well, here’s the deal… let’s break down the quote and show you how super valuable it is.

One of the biggest components of your foundation as a Subject Matter Expert is your education.  BOTH formal and informal.  Any learning you’ve done to gain the expertise you have is valid.  If you’ve read books, attended seminars, taken classroom learning… what ever it is that you’ve done to learn what  you know, that’s education.

Do you see how Education is your most powerful weapon?

What makes you, YOU… the fundamental learning you’ve done, this is powerful!

Now the next part of the quote, it’s to change the world.

What is the world you are trying to change?  Is it world peace or is it to sell your product that makes someone’s life better?

The definition of “world” is quite subjective.  But if you’re here to learn about Tribeology and creating an Infinity Marketing Machine to make your business better… then… your “world” is your customers.

Your everyday goal is to make their world a better place anyway!   You’re already using your education to make the world a better place…
