TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 822 – Set the Stage

Tribeology: Learn It. Do It. Profit. Decide who you want to work with, attract them, and sell them things they want to buy! It really is that simple.

Saturday: Try This

Have Fun!

I love this idea. It’s the ability to set the stage and create a fun memory.

This photo is actually from a restaurant – but there’s a long narrow hallway on the approach to the main dining and host stand.

It’s the perfect opportunity to set the stage.  As a reminder “set the stage” is the time to draw your customers into your experience.

One of the best examples of this is an amusement park ride at Disney World.  The waiting lines wind around and around but at the same time they use lighting and sound to help you get into the spirit of the ride.

This hallway set a quirky vibe by having oversized scrabble pieces on the wall… it’s the opportunity for customers to spell words, take photos, in essence… be quirky, too!

How can you help “set the stage” for your customers?  Can you theme signage, use words on your website that draw or direct your customer to the right experience…

At the marina we offer a bottle of water and orientation session to help our customers make the transition from the hustle of driving to the relaxation of a boat ride.

Set the stage!  Try This!

It’s so much fun when I explore my Instagram feed and come across a fun idea to share.

This idea is not “new”, especially in the service industry.  It’s simply featuring successful product of your service… in this case it’s one of the twirlers.

Here’s what I like… the backdrop.

When I mention that your ideas do not have to be expensive, look at the back drop in the photo.  It’s a very simple piece of lattice with costumes from the team hanging.  It’s recognizable and looks great.

The other things it does is it gets you actually “DOING” – meaning, you’re not worried about having to get a designer, spend a lot of money, and taking a whole bunch of time to implement the idea.

You can make a very nice backdrop, right now.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 815 – The Glowing Pumpkin

Tribeology: Learn It. Do It. Profit. Decide who you want to work with, attract them, and sell them things they want to buy! It really is that simple.

Friday: Big Money Small Change

Quote: “The best part of the journey is the surprise”

How can you surprise your tribe?  Take something expected and personalize it to your business.

It’s actually pretty easy

Look at how this yoga studio celebrates Halloween… online…

The message captures your attention – you expect a pumpkin or some variation of a Halloween message.  Since it’s a yoga studio you often see reminders of the core principles of yoga… such as light inside you.  But put them together and you have magic.

Take your messaging to the next level by using a nuance of the holiday that has a personal connection to your business terms or philosophy.

But I also like the text under the message — it’s a specific invite to the studio for chocolate!  The holiday is used for introducing new people to a new product.

Thats an easy way to increase sales for very small costs.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 810 – Only Seven Oranges for Sale…

Saturday: Try This

Have you ever been to the grocery store and seen the big huge display of oranges?  They stack them up… pyramid style and they look fantastic.

Someone took great care to fill up that huge display – they light shines on it perfect.

NOW… have you ever been to the grocery store on a Sunday evening?  The big shopping of the weekend is over and that once dominant display is reduced to 7 oranges and you think….”I’ll pass”

They are amazing oranges – but the expectation is to find a HUGE display – so to only see 7, you think, “they must be yucky… no one else wanted them”

Now what if the display looked like this

Those seven oranges look pretty amazing!  AND if you’re at a restaurant that sells lots of cakes and cookies, it gives you the customer a great healthy option!

Displaying your merchandise is key to your success — both online and off.  If you’re online take care in your photos… The photos need to tell a story and often it’s the thing that stops people and gets them to read your headline and even body of the description.

Just remember – it’s all in the visual.

Look around your store and at your website — determine if your 7 oranges look like the last 7 oranges at the grocery store – or like the seven in the photo above!

Try This!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 803 – Creeping it Real

Quote: “Why work….when you can create!”

Friday: Big Money Small Change

Here’s a post that stopped me in my tracks.  The characters are so silly!  I actually didn’t realize it until I wrote this post… it’s fruit!  I totally thought they were cookies, then I looked closer and saw the pears, followed by the kiwi… etc.

But what does this have to do with big money?

The post is easy… shows the product… and doesn’t cost a lot of money!

But most important it’s timely.  We’re quickly approaching Halloween and the “creeping it real” is a great theme for this food based post.

So it’s NOT just a post that shows their product that captures your attention.  It’s a TIMELY post that shows their product AND captures your attention!

Your business has seasonal and holiday influences… even if you don’t think so.  We’re a marina and winter may not be your number one think of boating season… but we do send out Christmas Cards with boats as the decoration.

There are ways to be timely and timely bonds your tribe, ultimately making you money!

Get creative and get your holiday on!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 802 – This Will Change Your Focus to Endless Possibilities!

Quote: “Your Possibilities are Endless”

Thursday:  Infinity Customer

Your possibilities are endless… yet you feel like you have no options?  That’s so strange.

AND

It’s so real!

Here I am saying, “develop a list, provide content, consistently”.  Sounds easy.  But you’re all “I don’t know what to write, I don’t feel like creating content, and OMG have you seen my hair, I can’t go on camera with that!!”

Well… let’s start at the beginning

You don’t have to have a super finished master plan in the works to be successful.  You already have a business running.

What our goal is with Tribeology is to add security to a very crazy social media plan.

If I described you above in the “I don’t know what to _____” then tribeing is great — getting on a consistent content producing schedule will bring calm to your day.  (HA!  Like that’s possible)

Well, that may be the goal and in reality it doesn’t feel achievable, but look at this — would your day be better if you had a group of people that you could make a small one page PDF that was the “Top 7 ways to _____” that you knew would really be helpful and they would love VS. creating a random post because you “have” to?

YES

How about this… by creating this “Top 7 ways to ____” in an email that you send out and you know will reach all of the email boxes of your customers, does that make it feel like less of a “chore” and more of a “dang, this feels like a good use of my time” mission?

YES

Now, the best part — if you’re emailing something that reaches the entire list… isn’t it cool that you can put a link into the email for a product you sell AND have people buy it?

OH HECK YEAH!

Here’s the deal.  Tribology is creating a group of people you want to create content for – in turn you are rewarded by a stable group of people that buy things.  This is why you’re doing the hard work of consistent content.

When you jump the hurdle and mentally change from “have to” to “want to” create content your possibilities really do become endless.

People will buy things from you, your email list becomes a mini-ATM — you cannot say the same about your social media feeds.  Your list becomes a valuable asset to your business AND ultimately it can become a profit center.

Endless Possibilities!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 798 – Cheers to Helping People Drink!

Saturday: Try This!

How can you make shopping easier for your tribe?  For me… provide Diet Pepsi — but if you can’t do that, make it easy to still consume Diet Pepsi while I shop your product/services!

How cool is this idea?

Target has a full basket of beverage holders for your use on your cart.  Now… part of this has got to be to prevent spills in the aisles… haha — but what a great idea!

Buy a beverage from Target – and they even have a way for you to easily consume it.  It’s a great idea.

How can you do this?

One way we make things a little easier for our customers is to have “cheaters” at the front counter.  If someone is writing a check or signing a contract we want them to see!  I picked up several pairs at the dollar store.  So for one dollar, we provide a great service to our customer to help them better enjoy their shopping experience.

Take a look at where your customers have discomfort.  When do they make a big sigh…. did they forget something… send a reminder… have the “thing” they forgot… there are lots of ways you can make your experience better.

If you’ve got an idea to share… put it in the comments!

Try This!
