TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 780 – Two for One!

Saturday: Try This!

Normally on “Try This!” I like to feature a real world business idea… I find these when I’m shopping.

Yeah, I’m the weirdo that you see taking photos in stores. But that aside, today I’m giving you a bonus “Try This!” because it’s actually TWO ideas in one.

Here’s a great sign that was in the bathroom at the convenience store…

The first awesome idea is that it was in the restroom!  You have a completely captive audience – it’s also an uncluttered environment.  Your message has a great chance to be “heard”.

Ummmmm did it work… heck yeah, sorta – I mean I bought a car wash, not a 10 count card, but I did buy a car wash that I had no idea I was buying that day!  🙂

The second awesome idea is to offer a bundle product.

Now, I bought one car wash ticket, but the sign encourages the discount for buying a bundle of 10!  It also has a smaller option for a bundle of 5.

When you’re looking to increase your average ticket sale, considering selling in multiples!

There ya go – two ideas for one “Try this”

SO

Try this!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 779 – Stop Subtracting Personality… Add Details to Posts to Multiply Results Without Dividing Your Time!

Quote: “A new day and another opportunity”

Friday: Big Money Small Change

How clever are you?  Well… here’s a great post that really shows some creativity.  It’s the type of post we regularly talk about – something that gabs attention and suits a purpose without saying “here’s the purpose of this post”

Look at it!

This is a brain teaser that each student was given to learn more about their new teacher…  and the teacher shared it on her Instagram.  The cool thing is this… if you were a teacher it’s a great “pop up” on your feed that will make you think… “I can do this” – but if you’re not a teacher – it’s fun to figure out how many siblings she has, how many miles she’s biked… etc.

You really learn about the teacher without reading, “I am 27 years old and enjoyed 12th grade…. blah blah blah”

Excellent teacher.

Posts should engage and draw you in… just like this!  Don’t be afraid to get creative.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 776 – Make Your Content Last

Quote: “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Tuesday: Content and Consistency

Are you working hard?  We all like to think we work hard… but here’s a scoop. You’ve got to work harder.

I’m not talking about your physical output today.

I’m talking about your planning for tomorrow.  And this is a biggie… if you spend your time creating posts and throwing them on Facebook will people find them next week.

Nope.

People don’t look on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram for information they seek.

Start spending time on your website!

Yes… I’m a strong supporter of email for your social side.  However, think about this.

Create a webpage about your product — then send an email that links to it.  You get the benefit of the email to your list AND you get the benefit of adding content to your website.

This is a fantastic way to work harder.  You put your efforts into the never ending content storage facility that is your website.

For example, let’s say you have a jewelry store.  This weekend is the local festival and you will be having a sale.  You’ll easily create a post to welcome people to your store for the sale…

BUT

What if you create a page on your site that talks about the festival.  People that shop at your store also like the festival and they like that YOU like the festival. Now when you write the post about your sale – you link to the page you created about the festival.  It’s a win-win.

Now here’s the fun part — this page about the festival becomes a searchable part of your website and it’s always there – anytime you mention the festival – you have a “ready to go” page about it!

Sure it’s “harder” to make the page about the festival – but it’s a FANTASTIC use of your time.

So today, make a list of 20 topics to create pages for – anything from safety or gift ideas, to festivals and your business history – just create the list and write!

Have fun with this content booster.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 774 – You’re Only Three and a Half Miles Away from Social Proof

Quote: “Playing it safe is one of the riskiest things you can do.”

Monday:  Credibility

Today – are you going to risk it… or be safe?   You have thousands of decisions to make today, most will be made without much thought.

Think about it – already today you’ve made decisions on what to wear and eat… but were they safe or risky decisions.

What to eat?  Honestly, is this risky?  YES… sometimes there is drama involved in it.  A decision so seemingly easy can be filled with mystery.  You decide to grab a meal, but you don’t like it, but you’re out of money… how will you know if you like it?

It’s probably impossible to know if you will enjoy eating something, after all, you need to consume the product to determine if you like it… so if you don’t like it, it’s too late!

So what the heck do you do?

You rely on Social Proof.  If someone else out there has eaten at the restaurant you want to try… or even the actual dish that you’re debating ordering… someone else that has had the experience can really help determine if it’s for you, too!

Here’s a fun rendition of my husband’s restaurant selection on a recent layover in North Carolina… and yes, he always puts this much effort into restaurants.  Yeah, give me a PB&J and I’m set… for him… this decision is a big BIG deal.

What is the value of social proof? With only 15 hours to spend in Charlotte NC, the decision had to be just right… after all it was one meal.  So here goes…

A simple web search turned up Pinky’s Westside Diner. There were many restaurants on the search, but Pinky’s stood out, why? Well Pinky’s had been featured on the food network TV show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.

Pinky’s was 3 1/2 miles from the intrepid traveler’s hotel, and he walked there and back. No one ever said my husband is intelligent. He reports that the Asian pork burger and the black eyed pea salad were well worth the effort.

Pinky’s was indeed a “dive” and a foodie paradise. To enhance their social proof and live up to all they hype, the servers could recount hte exact foods featured on the show and had an in depth knowledge of the menu.

Remember, you can “make up” social proof, but if someone is relying on it… then arrives at your business and encounter a different experience, OH BOY – that’s wrong on many levels.  Don’t “make up” proof — instead, celebrate it by advertising it, prominently displaying on your website, mentioning it on your staff T-shirts, and just like Pinky’s did… get your staff to KNOW the knowledge… like the menu items featured on the show!

Not everyone has social proof as terrific as Pinky’s, but we can all emphasize our social proof and make sure the staff can promote it, just like Pinky’s.

His last piece of advice, “Try the Asian pork burger, it’s delicious!”

Social Proof is one of those things that makes a difference.  It’s a tribe builder.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 765 – Focus On Today and Repeat.

Quote: “May you master today. Everyday.”

Thursday: Infinity Customers

If you’re worried about mastering tomorrow, here’s a clue – you won’t.  You can’t master tomorrow because it’s tomorrow.  The only thing you can do is master today and then repeat.

Work in the present.  Be Present.  And Repeat.

What does this have to do with your Infinity Marketing Machine?

You do not have to master the entire Infinity Marketing Machine, today… but you do need to put 100% effort into it today.

Just like I mentioned above you can’t master tomorrow… you can’t master your Infinity Marketing Machine tomorrow… you’ve got to do it today.

If you’re working on a post to drive traffic to your freemium…. do it with 100% effort – master it.

If you’re working on creating the freemium… do it with 100% effort… master it.

If you’re sending that email — press send with all the confidence that your message is going to bond the tribe to you.

There are lots of moving parts to the Infinity Marketing Machine.  It’s a constant work in progress.  As with anything though, you’ve got to focus on today and give it 100% of everything you’ve got.

The ability to transform your customers from “one and done” to “infinity” happens everyday… it’s not something you perfect tomorrow, the perfection comes today.

And then you repeat. repeat. repeat.

So today – get out there and do one thing that helps bond you to your tribe.  And then repeat!

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 764 – Go BIG

Quote: Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”

Wednesday: Midweek Motivation

What’s that big, huge, seemingly unreachable goal that you have?  Don’t want to say because it seems unrealistic….

It’s OK to think that it’s “too big” or that if you were to even attempt it you’d be trying to attain the goal forever!

But today’s quote is brilliant…

Time will pass anyway.

Just remember that.  Let’s say your big goal is to open a chain of 100 restaurants.  You have one. You know people would love your food all over the region (or country) – but it’s a big BIG goal.

This goal would take lots of money, lots of people, and most likely lots of sleepless nights… right?

So you think, this is just “to big” to even imagine.  It’s a neat goal to think about… but nah, it could never happen, it would just take too long.

Well… regardless of what you do, that time will happen (hopefully…otherwise you’re dead) nice thought — but honestly, time happens!

If you really want the 100 restaurants… why not you?!  Hey… on your journey to 100 you might think 10 is amazing… or possibly you’ll get to 250!

My point is… time will happen – so never think the goal is too big… along the way your goal may change – but you need something to be working toward and looking forward to achieving!

So go big… really big – I mean SUPER big.

TribeologyBlog.com – Episode 758 – You’ve Gotta Do Someting

Quote:  “You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.”

Wednesday: Midweek Motivation

Have you ever made a list of all the things you want to do before you die?

How about goal setting? Have you ever set a goal and even created a plan for your journey to achieve the goal?

Both of these tasks allow you to dream about the future and come up with visions of how you want the events to unfold.  But without action they are just visions!

Just like today’s quote – unless you take action… unless you actually start checking off the boxes needed to “make it happen” – you will just be a dreamer.

That’s why today’s quote is so important – you can’t take action on what you’re going to do… you’ve got to take action. You’ve got do do something!
