Boy oh boy… today’s example traveled great distances.

I was scrolling through my feed the other day and someone posted a photo of their shipping label.  You know… you see these and normally it shows a wrong address, crushed box, or possibly an “unboxing”.

But this time it was simply entertaining.

 

When you pay attention to your vibe… When you Live Tribeology you can create magic like the Birchbox label.

Someone probably got the idea of adding a little message in the address bar.

In terms of “Big Money Small Change” Yowza!  This is a free vibe builder!

Look at it this way… their vibe translated from a social site, to a product, to the shipping label, all the way back to the internet and now here!

All for free!

This seems to be an easy “piece of real estate ” to use!

HINT: When I sell dog collars, I list the dog’s name on the label…

I love days when we quote Abraham Lincoln.

Why?

Because it shows how timeless wisdom can be!  I’m using it to help explain the importance telling a story, telling your business success story!

This post needs no words.  Just look at it!

Congratulations to this woman, 30 lbs in six weeks. WOW!  Awesome for her…

But also, awesome to this fitness studio.  Not just for showing her a process to be successful in her transformation… but for sharing it in a simple way with their social feed.

Look, it doesn’t need words to say how she did it.  It’s super simple.

And, it’s super effective!

This is a classic transformation/before and after type success story. Think of a way you can do this!  If you are an orthodontist it’s a great visual process.  What about a before/after for house painting… we can do it at the marina for before/after on boat bottom cleaning.

This is such a small way to gain big results that we often over look it!

Business is designed to help other people by providing a product or service to better the life of someone else, therefore, business it’s self is a before/after.  So compile a list and utilize this tool.

Do you agree with today’s inspiration, “make a customer, not a sale”?

Say “yes” and it’s a good thing, right?  Say “no” and it’s a bad thing, right?  Well, maybe we should flip this upside down and say, “we do not want to make a customer”

EEk!

What does that mean?

As we’ve learned over the years we want to make customers.  Build that relationship so they’re not buying a product but they’re a relationship.

Well…

Wheat happens if you transform from this “one and done” transaction basis of business to the tribe process.

Instead of being “nice” until they buy… let’s be nice AFTER they buy.  We need to focus on the long game, the difference between a sprint and a marathon.  When we promote our brand and attract people that want to hang out with us, we can build something very exciting…. and that’s an Infinity Customer!

I like focusing on a customer versus a sale – but I REALLY like focusing on a tribe instead of a customer.

My favorite Tribe Techniques

1- Consistent communication.  Pick the way you want to communicate, blog, vlog, or podcast.  Then pick the schedule – is it twice a week, three times a weeks… maybe everyday?  Just pick it and do it!

2- Create your ideal client or follower – make a detailed list of their characteristics and go find them!

3- Make a list of 10 topics that your followers will be interested in…

Then repeat the list, make your content, keep monitoring the ideal client, and keep the topics coming!

I love when I check my feeds in Facebook or Instagram and find amazing posts to share with you!

Since we’re always looking for new ways to increase our money this might be a great idea for you.  Maybe not exactly like it, but if you grasp the spirit you’ll be rocking it!

This post is from a baton twirling group.  Remember, I competed fro 17 years so it’s fun to still follow teams and see how the sport evolves… one evolution is the introduction of social media on the business side.

There’s something in baton twirling called a 1-turn.  It’s when you toss the baton in the air and while it’s out of your hand, you turn around once and catch the baton.  You can do a 2-turn… which is two spins.  3-turn… 4-turn… etc.  YES, the very good competitors get up to 9ish, it’s pretty incredible.

BUT you have to start somewhere and that somewhere is the 1-turn. It’s a milestone. Honestly, it’s the first “real” trick that separates the new students from those on their way to competition levels.

SO, back to the post.  This girl was at practice and caught her 1-turn!  Look at how they celebrated.  The studio has a chalkboard and wrote the milestone on it for the girl to stand in front of the studio logo on the wall!

The caption said “she joined the 1-turn club”

This is a pretty exciting way to showcase your product (lessons) as a brand.  LOOK AT THIS… it’s tribe building.  You celebrate your student’s success and share with your online family so they too can celebrate!  It motivates the girl who achieved the milestone, shows your teaching success, and can create a shareable moment.

And it’s an Infinity promotion. You erase the chalk board and wait for the next milestone… the wall is a great decor item that serves double duty.

This is a “very big money small change” item.

How can you do this?   Use creativity –  like our quote says… make it special.

For me… We have a marina… We could do this by celebrating “my first boat ride” or “my first visit to Lake Minnetonka” create a certificate, award to the customer, and take a photo in front of our sign and post online!

Done consistently, it’s a fantastic content creator!

So let’s see… of our 5 C’s we have…

  1. Character (Subject Matter Expert) – YEP, success at teaching.
  2. Content – YEP – it’s a content generator
  3. Consistency – YEP – it’s going to happen again…
  4. Customer – YEP – the student is celebrated
  5. Cash – it likely will build excitement for others to want to join.

This is a home run for Tribeology!

This is definitely the type type of quote you want to print up and hang on the wall.  It’s so AMAZING.  You totally want to stand at the top of a hill, arms outstretched, sun gracing your face and you exhale.

That’s what you feel when you read this quote.

There are dreams of selling everything, moving to an island and soaking in the reggae band at the bar while drinking a ginormous drink with a huge slice of pineapple on the rim.

You want to run free in the meadow being chased by a pack of golden retriever puppies.

Don’t all of these things sound amazing!  Especially when you’re staring at your unread emails? haha

Let’s look at the second half of the quote — Learn.  Learn more. Then learn some more!

I was listening to a book as I was driving today.  I was running errands, and I HATE to run errands. It’s winter, I’m fortunate to have a warm coat, but I hate not being able to move!  UGH.  But there I was… driving to pick up stuff at 5 different places. AND I was listening to an audio book.

I was listening to a marketing book.  It’s about creating remarkable moments and how to craft them… there will probably be a post about it in the future (wink) – but today I was learning.  One example is about New Zealand and their innovation of a Sky Couch.

YIKES!

They added a foot rest to the 3 across seats.  It flips up and makes a futon.  Imagine that!  On a trip across the ocean you can lie down and NOT be in first class.  (Granted, I’d like to be in First Class)

So what does this have to do with the quote for today?  OMG.  I was doing life (mundane), learning (audio book), and living (dreaming) — all at the same time.

You can multitask anything! 🙂

I picked today’s quote to help us all understand the important reason behind WHY we need to position ourselves as Subject Matter Experts.

Confidence.

Confidence is a simple word that is terribly complex.  We want to appear confident but at the same time not so confident that we are arrogant.  However, there is the danger of underselling our accomplishments in an effort to humble that creates a compeetitive disadvantage.

That’s why today’s inspiration is fantastic.

Use it as a tool to inspire confidence in your ability to inspire confidence!  (I couldn’t resist)

The first C of the Infinity Marketing Machine is “C”redibility.  It its our ability to create social proof with our tribe. We position ourselves as experts so that it builds the fundamental “trust” of know, like, and trust that is vital to bonding a tribe to you.

BUT… we know this.  We know that we should position ourselves as Subject Matter Experts.   We know that we should write a blog and “beef up” our About Me pages.  We know that we should share our knowledge… however, it’s uncomfortable OR seems like a time waster because we think, “who wants to know about me???”

It’s not about what you think, it’s about what your potential customers and potential future tribe thinks… they have ZERO confidence in you if you don’t tell them.

SO TELL THEM.

Spend the time to build the confidence that they need in you, and in turn you’ll find confidence in yourself.  And when you have confidence in yourself, others will have confidence in you… it’s like a big infinity loop.
