Imagine it’s New Years Eve.  You’re counting down… 6…5…4…3…2…1…

Then Nothing.

It would be an awkward moment, wouldn’t it?!?

New Year’s Even parties must be reliable.  Just like the 10:00 news.  How about the time the bus or train arrives.  These are things we set our clock by.

The way to realize how important reliability is happens when you’re listening to the morning news and the host on the east coast says it’s 7:03am instead of “3 after the hour”!   You’re in the central time zone thinking you’re an hour late!   That’s like a jolt of cold water in your shower.

This is the power of reliability.

Develop this mindset as you create content for your followers.  I use Tuesday to discuss the second and third “C’s” of the Infinity Marketing Machine… that’s Content and Consistency.

When you take the time to create content for your audience, it’s a gift.  This means your customers anxiously await it!  Think about your birthday as a child… you waited and waited… Your customers wait for your content. It’s important.  The loyalty of your following is built when you allow them the security that your content will arrive.  If you send something regularly for 3 weeks, then disappear… people will wonder where you went.  Don’t create stress in your customer, create confidence.

Create content and consistently deliver it.  Again, this is how you build loyalty and how the customers convert into a tribe.

Episode #347 – Who is the Star of the Story?

I love this inspiration!  Have you ever thought about marketing in this light?  Your job is to make the customer feel smart.

Let’s do a little “shoe on the other foot” example.  Have you ever been a customer and felt dumb?  The sales person was so concerned about showing you the features and benefits, they forgot their job was to make sure YOU understood how it would add value to your life.

Your job, at all times, is to build trust using the Infinity Marketing Machine.

When you feel dumb you also feel insecure.  It’s not a great feeling.  But a terrific sales person will make you the star of the story!  They’ll go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.  This builds trust.

Now you might think… this is pretty easy to do in the “real world” because you have all sorts of verbal ques.  You can read the person in front of you and understand if they are “getting it”.  So what do you do online?

Play the role of beginner customer!  Start a role play with yourself.  Pretend you are both the beginner customer and the sales person.  Ask yourself all the questions you’ve ever been asked… and answer them.  NOW, in the role of marketing… make a large FAQ page of all of these questions.  Then when needed (and even when not needed) make videos!  Use both of these great tools and make the customer feel smart!

I had a customer visit for a tour this past weekend.  I started to explain how our boat storage program works… he said, “OH I know… I watched your video” — AWESOME.
