ProfitCenterCoach.com – Episode 456 – The Reason You Follow is also the Reason You Lead.

“Lead, follow, or get out the way.”

Thursday: Infinity Customers

Who do you follow?  Think about the people, brands, celebrities, products, businesses?  Which ones do you love…

Now ask yourself why do you follow them?  Why do you feel such a connection with the entity that you follow it?

You see, I’ve heard you can follow something as simple as cereal.  Growing up I used to love a trip to the grocery store to visit the cereal aisle.  That was always cool.  Way better than the spices (yawn, boring).  But I bet you can follow a spices page…

So why do we do this?

Because we want to belong.  I follow my favorite hotel in Florida.  Why?  Each time I see the pool, I envision myself floating in it!  I imagine that people who follow spices think of smells or tastes?  OK, I have no idea… that’s just to strange for me.  But hey, I’m not part of that tribe!

And that’s the point.

As a follower you want to belong.  That’s why you give permission for a toilet paper company to send you information.

Now reverse engineer this… do YOU offer an “experience” that people want to follow?  And I don’t just mean online. Do they want to west a T shirt with your logo?  At the heart of it, are you a good leader?  Remember, you are the vibe behind your tribe.

This vibe is a critical portion of your Infinity Marketing Machine.  The reason is that you want people to hang out with you and consume the content you provide. When they stick around they become loyal and that loyalty translates into more sales.

That’s what we all want… more sales!

Your vibe can be created. It is a combination of your policies and procedures mixed with your products and services tied together with your history and story!

This vibe is critical to your Infinity Marketing Machine.  The stronger and more defined your vibe the better your results will be.

Take some time today to see what vibe you already have… and then decide if it’s what you really want to be leading!  If it’s not… change it.

ProfitCenterCoach.com – Day 34 – Match Your Message.

“There’s a significant difference between a leader and a cheerleader”

Yesterday we chatted about the power of consistency.  It’s critical to your Infinity Marketing Machine to provide content to your readers on a consistent schedule.

Here’s the deal with this short guideline… and that’s the type of content!

I like to use the marina industry… well… because I’m familiar with it!

So here’s the deal.  What do you think of when you think of boating?  Sand beaches, blue waters, fishing, the list goes on and on…

Well, in terms of today’s inspiration – it’s VERY easy to be a cheerleader of the boating industry.  You can EASILY provide a post every single day… if you want to provide boating tid bits.  But guess what?

IT’S WORTHLESS.

You have an audience and they want to hear information about THEM.  If you remember nothing else, remember this… people only care about themselves!

Here’s why.  In my very simple example, of sand beaches, blue waters, fishing – you can’t go wrong, right?

HA!

Being from Minnesota… what happens if I provide a photo of “fishing tips” to my audience.  The photo I choose has aqua blue waters, white sand beaches, and a large tarpon?  NO ONE WOULD CARE!  However, if I show a 20′ bass boat, with navy blue waters, pine trees and a guy in a flannel shirt holding a northern pike… now someone will read it!

You must know your audience to provide information relevant to them.  They must be able to put themselves into the story.  This is how you build a connection with your audience and transform them into a tribe.

Trust yourself and become a leader of your tribe by providing information that is what your tribe desires instead of throwing anything “general” out there to see if it is well received.

ProfitCenterCoach.com – Day 33 – If You Are Going to Be Anything… Be Consistent.

“Without commitment you will never start, more importantly, without consistency, you will never Finish.” – Denzel Washington

Yesterday was fun, we had a nice conversation about how to treat your followers as a group and at the same time treat them as individuals.

Well today we’re looking at the word “treat”. How do you treat them?

Treating is not just the info you provide to your followers.  That’s super important, but it’s how you provide it.

Have you ever had a friend that says they’ll call… and they don’t?  Frustrating, right?

How about if you went out on a date… it was fun.  Then the next day you’re asked out again… maybe some flowers arrive… you go out again… then nothing.  No phone call, no text… tick tock tick tock – NOTHING!

How do you feel?

Well… how are you “treating” your followers?  Remember you are the vibe behind your tribe.  If your vibe is fun or inspirational… it might also be inconsistent or sporadic.

You don’t want to be the person that disappears on your followers!  You need to maintain a consistent schedule.  This is super important to the success of your Infinity Marketing Machine.

Message is one aspect, but your reliability in creating the message is the other.  Be consistent and don’t ditch your followers!

Tomorrow… we’re going to chat about that message!  Come back!

ProfitCenterCoach.com – Day 23 – What Story are You Telling?

“I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult” Rita Rudner

So I was out walking my dog today — then I realized, he sure is full of American Spirit right now!

I create personalized dog collars as a hobby business… Mr. Pancake is sporting a brand new stars and stripe collar and leash combo.  However, he also got a hair cut last week and picked up a pretty bandana, also in a stars and stripe theme.  That’s when I wondered if I had turned into one of “those people” – you know… the crazies that dress up their dog.

He’s not a teeny tiny little dog either – he’s a big doodle with a fuzzy face.

That’s why today’s inspiration caught my eye.  After thinking that I probably have crossed the line into needing help for my dog decorating disorder… I then wondered, do birds overhead just look at him and laugh?  They probably do, but guess what… when Mr. Pancake wants food, he simply goes to the kitchen.

No hunting needed.  The birds on the other hand spend their entire day on the search for food.

What does this have to do with the daily running of your business?  Your business needs a theme and you need to believe in the theme right down to your “stars and stripe bandana” – There’s a vibe you create… even if you don’t think you create a vibe, you are.  The vibe might be happening TO YOU instead of you intentionally creating it.  But it’s there.

Your logo, your colors, your furniture. They all come together to tell a story.

Therefore, you need to ask… “What story am I telling?”

That’s the question for today! The goal is that you want to be so proud of your “stars and stripes bandana” that the other businesses think you’re part of a weird cult – all the while you know the truth and that is…  they have to hunt for their food while you simply walk to the kitchen.

Be the vibe behind your tribe!
